Australian Access Federation

Did you know that CQ University is a member of the Australian Access Federation?

The Australian Access Federation (AAF) provides a framework and support infrastructure to facilitate trusted electronic communications and collaboration within and between universities and research institutions in Australia. The AAF uses cutting edge technologies to provide a range of automatic identification services, which will allow authentication of people (researchers, teachers and students) and resources (servers, services, networks, instruments and data). It enables resource owners to identify and authorise a researcher to access online resources, such as computer facilities, data and other research infrastructure, at their home institution, at other Australian institutions, and around the world. [AAF Website – http://www.aaf.edu.au/about/ – 15 March 2013]

Simply put, the Australian Access Federation enables a Single sign-on to National eResearch resources which allows you to use your CQUniversity credentials to connect to AAF enabled services.

A list of AAF services can be found at https://aaf.edu.au/subscribers/services/, with new services coming online regularly.  There is currently a total of 97 services available (as of February 2014) to authenticate against.

Note – there is no guarantee of access – as certain services will check at an institutional or individual level to see if you have access permissions
